"The purpose of this note is to answer to the request I received from Paul Messina and Ed Seidel, to provide input and insight that could eventually be useful for TeraGrid planning for the future. Given the interest in and the necessity of merging eInfrastructures in a world wide context, it seems to me that the best contribution I can provide is to present my views on the way HPC and supercomputing grids have been evolving in Europe, and the way we are currently foreseeing the future."
